Abies Concolor
Concolor Fir
Concolor Fir trees are large, densely-growing, narrow trees with a dome-shaped crown growing 50 feet or more. This rapid growing fir tree is the most drought resistant of all native firs. Although it can exist on poor, dry sites, the white fir grows most vigorously in moist, well drained, acid soils in protected locations. It is a rapid grower after it becomes established.

Picea abies
Norway Spruce
The Norway Spruce is the fasting growing of the spruce family. It develops strong graceful branches that are covered with dark green needles that never get longer than 1'. This evergreen conifer tree thrives well in average soil conditions, but prefers moisture in the soil to maintain it’s deep green color. It is an ideal windbreak tree.
Zones: 3 thru 7 Height: 40’-60’ Spread: 25’-30' Shape: Pyramidal

Picea Glauca Var. densata
Black Hills Spruce
The Black Hills Spruce is noted for its dense, dark green foliage and conical form. It is a truly cold adapted tree and is very resistant to winter injury. It prefers rich moist soil in full sun and also thrives in dry, well drained sites. This evergreen conifer tree has a medium growth rate and requires little, if any, pruning. Deer dislike the Black Hills Spruce. It is a commonly used tree for windbreaks, privacy screens and accent planting.
Zones: 2 thru 6 Height: 40’-60’ Spread: 15’-25' Shape: Pyramidal

Picea pungens
Colorado Spruce
The Colorado Spruce has a horizontal branching habit and grows taller than 75 feet in its native habitat. The tree grows about twelve inches per year once established but may grow slower for several years following transplanting. Needles emerge as a soft clump, changing to a stiff, pointed needle sharp to the touch. It casts dense shade when branched to the ground. The degree of coloration varies from blue to green.
Zones: 2 thru 6 Height: 45’-65’ Spread: 15’-25' Shape: Pyramidal

Picea omorika
Serbian Spruce
The most graceful of all spruces, the Serbian Spruce offers thin arching branches with a slender straight trunk. The needles are light green to blue green with purple to cinnamon colored one and a half inch cones. The trunk grows straight and the tree requires no pruning to keep the narrow, pyramidal form. It prefers a deep, moist, and well drained soil and tolerates full sun to partial shade.

Pinus strobus
White Pine
The Eastern White Pine is an excellent ornamental conifer and is an important timber species. When well established, it has a rapid growth rate when young with long distances between the annual lateral branches. Its form is somewhat pyramidal when young and becomes broad with age. The 3-5" long needles found in bundles of five are thin and soft. Needle color varies from yellow green to blue green.
Zones: 3 thru 8 Height: 50’-90’ Spread: 35’-45' Shape: Pyramidal Crown

Thuja occidentalis
Techny Arborvitae
The Techny Arborvitae is a fast growing arborvitae tree with generally denser foliage than many of the other species of arborvitae. This is the arborvitae of choice for areas with tougher conditions. Techny Arborvitae can be pruned into hedges for an excellent windbreak and can protect more tender plants from chilling winter wind. They will grow to a mature height of fi fteen to twenty feet and a mature spread of 4 to six feet.
